Dental Bridge

Bridges were widely used in the past, but today we mostly replace lost teeth with dental implants. However, there are situations where the bridge represents a more effective method of treatment.

Classic Dental Bridge

This serves to replace one or more lost teeth and is firmly fixed to the particular teeth that define the gap in the tooth.

How does it work?

Before the procedure itself, we determine which teeth are able to support the bridge structure. Poor quality teeth sometimes need to be pulled out, endodontically treated, or fillings may need to be applied. We perform the treatment under local anesthesia. We choose a suitable color of ceramics according to the surrounding teeth. To fasten the bridge, we grind the teeth adjacent to the gap after the lost tooth or teeth, and we apply imprinting to both jaws. Subsequently, we will make a temporary plastic bridge for you in order for your teeth to remain stable.
According to the prints, an exact plaster model is cast in the laboratory, on which the dental laboratory technician makes the final bridge. At the next visit, we will test the bridge and fasten it with fixing material.
After the procedure, proper oral hygiene is especially important to prevent tooth decay and gingivitis. The better you take care of your bridge, the longer it will last for you.
